Calendar Product Updates
Key Releases from the Last Quarter
1. Google Integration Descope
Google Calendar is now connected directly via calendar settings, not through global integrations. This reduces permissions to only Calendar and Meet, improving reliability and limiting issues caused by unrelated changes (e.g., password updates).
2. Granular User Permissions
New permission sets allow admins to control access levels for appointments, calendars, and calendar groups. This enables more precise role-based control within teams.
3. Appointment Modal Side Drawer
The appointment view now includes tabs for Attendees, Notes (with an upcoming rich text editor), and Activity Log. Forms and Payments tabs are coming soon.
4. Create Appointment Note via Workflow
Users can now automatically add internal notes to appointments through workflows, triggered by booking actions or webhooks.
5. Add Guest Enhancements
Guests can now be required for bookings. Payment can be optionally charged per guest. The booking system intelligently calculates pricing based on guest count.
6. Payment Element in Classic Widget
The classic booking widget now supports payments through Stripe, Square, Razorpay, and NMI. It supports full/partial payments and saved cards.
7. Multilingual Support
The booking experience now supports French (Canada/France), Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian.
8. Interdependent Calendar Settings
Improved logic for setting dependencies ensures that enabling or disabling features shows real-time updates and dependencies, reducing misconfiguration.
Upcoming Calendar Features
1. Schedules for Enhanced Availability
Calendars will soon support calendar-specific schedules per user, replacing the current dual-layer availability system. This allows for more flexible configurations (e.g., weekday/weekend shifts).
2. Forms and Payments Tabs in Appointment Modal
Form submissions and payment data will be shown in their respective tabs within the appointment drawer. Users will be able to view and act on this information directly.
3. Calendly Sync Enhancements
Calendly integration will import historical data (up to 6 months back) and avoid duplicating contacts. Old bookings won’t trigger new workflows.
4. In-Module Setup Guide
A new onboarding guide will walk users through setting up calendars, integrations, and workflows directly from within the calendar module.
5. Ask the Booker in Custom Forms
Custom booking forms will support the “Ask the booker” setting for questions like meeting location, improving flexibility for agencies.
6. Custom Value Enhancements
Better support for validation and formatting of custom values, including support for 24-hour time format.
7. Sync Disconnect Notifications
New notification system (email, push, SMS) for disconnections and missing information like meeting links, with daily reminders until resolved.
8. Coupon Codes for Calendar Bookings
Coupon logic, already used in services, will soon be available in all calendar types. Users can set discounts, usage limits, and apply them via booking widgets.
9. Workflow Triggers for Appointment Guests
Workflows will be able to trigger actions based on guest data (not just the main contact), with filters to distinguish between contact types.
Automation and Workflow Module Updates
Recent Enhancements
1. AI-Powered Workflow Assistant
New AI assistant can generate entire workflows from prompts and modify existing flows with simple commands. Helps users get started faster and iterate quickly.
2. AI in Custom Code Blocks
“Build with AI” generates code snippets within custom code actions. New error panel provides a centralized view of automation errors and suggests fixes.
3. Workflow Landing Page for New Users
A redesigned entry page with niche-specific templates and explainer videos simplifies the workflow learning curve for new users.
4. Opportunity Actions Expansion
Seven new opportunity actions have been added, including “Find Opportunity” and more detailed create/update logic. These will replace the current generic action, which will be deprecated.
5. Email Action CC/BCC Support
Users can now add multiple recipients (To/CC/BCC) using commas. Email analytics apply only to the primary recipient.
Upcoming Workflow Features
1. AI-Powered If/Else Logic
An AI Decision Maker step will enable dynamic branching logic based on natural language prompts and contact context.
2. AI Writer for Emails and SMS
Content generation based on tone, purpose, and prompts will be available directly within messaging steps.
3. Breadcrumb-Style Workflow Triggers
Pre-built workflows triggered from other modules (like forms or surveys) will guide users to automate next steps more easily.
4. New App Integrations
Ten upcoming app integrations include Google Docs, FreshBooks, SurveyMonkey, Gmail, Mailgun, Confluence, RocketReach, ZeroBounce, Pipedrive, and Marketo. Each will support triggers and actions within workflows.
